During fashion week — and indeed everyday — London street style thrives on its rebellious spirit, offering an intoxicating cocktail of high fashion, thrifted finds, bold colours, textures and silhouettes.
Some of the highlights of this year's street style looks came from the influence of sustainability, with vintage and up-cycled pieces being artfully incorporated into inventive, elevated looks. From dramatic oversized coats to futuristic accessories, the street style was an eclectic reflection of London’s diversity. Versatile Outerwear
London Fashion Week 2024 proved the old sentiment that wearing a coat ruins an outfit to be positively out of fashion. Versatile, Autumnal outerwear was a key feature in some of the best street style looks.
Think boxy cuts perfect for layering with… yet more jackets for the looming British Winter. Honourable shoutout to the gilet which was strutting the streets in all its forms.
Big Boots, Frilly Dresses
My early 2000s self positively shrieked with delight at the return of a tried and tested grunge classic; huge stompy boots and an over the top frilly dress. Preferably in baby pink, but any colour will do!
Nouveaux Twee
Another echo back to a popular early ‘00s look was the return of twee vibes. Think lacy details, fluted cuffs and baby doll silhouettes. While sportswear and street stylings remain popular, there is definitely a frilly, flouncy rebellion going on during London Fashion Week 2024.
Plaid and Tartan
Perhaps in a nod to the iconic punk underpinnings of London styling, plaid and tartan was everywhere this year. Whether in the form of a cutesy frock or some lacerated oversized trousers, chequered looks are definitely the print of the year.
Cyber Sporty
Think '80s lifeguard, but make it motocross. Not the most wearable look, but London Fashion Week 2024 was into it.

Over-accessorised bags dripping with charms, embellishments were the must have this year. As a sustainability fan, This one got me really excited with the boundless possibilities of utilising giant bunches of old keyrings or even a g-clip to festoon a bag with… yet another bag as a fashion statement. You could really go anywhere with this one and it’s just so London Fashion Week it hurts.
Eleganza
Despite all the usual London Fashion Week experimental looks, there was plenty of space for some unadulterated eleganza this year. Beautiful, structured frocks made more of a splash this year than I have seen in a long time and classic, feminine silhouettes are back in a big way.
Draped in Denim
Denim certainly wasn't a neutral at London Fashion Week 2024. Everything about the denim looks this year were loud, outrageous homages to the all American fabric which would make 2001 Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake proud.
Alpine?
Big fluffy hats and soft knits paired with a mini skirt offer sultry ski bunny vibes which are surprisingly easy to style. This sustainable look is easy to whip together with wardrobe staples and offers retro vibes that are easy to style up or down.
